VoiceDirect® powered by NetLayers® ("VoiceDirect®", "the App", "we", "us", or "our") is a softphone application available on iOS and Android, designed for business communication over the NetLayers® voice network. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
When you set up the App, we collect information you provide to create or link a NetLayers® account. This may include your customer name or business name, email address, phone number or extension, account ID, and login credentials used to authenticate with the NetLayers® voice service.
To maintain reliable service we may collect technical information such as the App version, device type, operating system version, IP address, network connection status, and basic performance metrics. This data is used solely for diagnostics and service quality.
If you contact NetLayers® customer support, we may collect your contact details, account and service information, a description of your issue, and any troubleshooting notes needed to assist you.
VoiceDirect® uses the following permissions on your device. We request access only to features the App actually needs to function.
If you choose to record a call using the App's built-in recorder, the resulting audio file is stored on your device only. NetLayers® does not upload, store, or have any access to call recordings. You can review and delete recordings from within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored recordings.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with advertisers or marketing partners. We may share limited information only when:
We retain account information for as long as your NetLayers® account is active or as needed to provide service. Technical and diagnostic data is retained only for as long as needed for the purposes described above. Call recordings stored on your device are retained until you delete them or uninstall the App.
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you. You can also withdraw consent for optional permissions (such as Contacts) at any time through your device's Settings or by closing your NetLayers® account. We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No method of electronic transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we work continuously to protect your data.
VoiceDirect® is a business communication tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
VoiceDirect® is operated from Canada. By using the App you understand that your information may be processed in Canada or other countries where NetLayers® or its service providers operate.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by other reasonable means. Continued use of the App after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
